The Phoenix at the National Basketball Tournament

By Xavier Dowtin

One month ago, the Wilson College Men’s basketball team made history. After winning the CSAC conference championship, they took their journey to Galloway, New Jersey to play in the school’s first National Tournament. This was an interesting journey, and the Phoenix enjoyed every moment.

There were a lot of new experiences from this weekend and a lot of fun moments that the team shared. There was the team dinner, a film study in the hotel lobby, and a team Bible study. The Phoenix then took on the Stockton men’s basketball team, ranked the 23rd best team in the country, and unfortunately, lost the game.

Nevertheless, this was a historical moment for the men’s basketball team, a one that will never be forgotten. This achievement will undoubtedly be a launching point for the basketball program, and hopefully the team will return to the tournament next year.
