Just Seconds Apart Brings Heart, Soul, and Energetic Sound to Lancaster, PA

At just nineteen years old, the Poulos triplets, from Scottsdale, Arizona, comprise the pop-rock trio Just Seconds Apart (JSA). With Sela on drums, Ari on guitar, and Alex on keyboard and bass, the three siblings have been performing music since the young age of eight. Shortly after starting the band, they started writing their own songs. With songs like “Good To Know,” “Fall In Us,” and “Santorini Dream,” it’s hard not to sing or dance along during their live performances.

The trio, comparable to Julia Michaels and John Mayer sound wise, notes that they were introduced to music at a very young age.

“Our mother was in the hospital with us for four months and listened to Mozart during that time so maybe we heard it, too.”

The triplets credit their parents, uncle, and grandmother for inspiring them “as they all have paved unique paths successfully with persistence and gratitude.” The siblings explain that they started Mommy & Me music classes when they were eighteen months old, and at just three years old they began piano lessons. Five years later, their grandmother took them to a music store and told them they could get any instrument they wanted.

“We did just that, and the rest is history.”

Where it comes to musical inspiration, the group says they look to John Mayer, Julia Michaels, and The 1975 as well as “personal experience, movies, nature, art, books, our imagination, etc.” They also love the music of 5 Seconds of Summer, Ed Sheeran, P!nk, The Backstreet Boys, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Carole King, Nat King Cole, and Jessi Colter.

Out of their favorite artists and musicians, JSA’s dream collaboration is with Ed Sheeran. In the future, they would like to tour with 5 Seconds of Summer.

Just a few weeks ago, JSA finished touring the country from April until the end of May with pop stars  Jake Miller and Logan Henderson. The group says that their favorite aspect of the tour was “how warm and welcoming” Miller and Henderson were.

“We all became family,” they say of the experience. “The energy from the crowd each night was electric, and meeting everyone after the shows filled our hearts with so much love and happiness.”

Out of all the songs JSA performs live, each sibling has their own favorite. Sela’s favorite song is “Legacy” whereas “Fall In Us” is Ari’s and Alex’s is “Santorini Dream.”

JSA’s performance proves highly energetic, and the audience can’t help but be blown away by their stage presence. Opening for Miller and Henderson in Lancaster, PA back in April, they were in complete sync as they played making it quite obvious that performing comes naturally for them.
