Megan Potter ’20 has been selected the National Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Pitcher of the Week for three weeks in a row.

Potter started her softball career at the age of four. At ten years old, she began pitching and has continued her athletic career by pitching for our Wilson College Women’s Softball Team.

Potter looks back on the season and recalls, “The best part about this season has definitely been beating Penn State Berks 1 to 0. The win was a team effort. Everybody had each other’s back, we played with tons of heart and left everything on the field. When Emily DeMatteo (our left fielder) caught the final out to end the game, I ran out to her and hugged her right away because it felt like we had just won the conference championship. Hearing the cheers and seeing the smiles of our seniors was a moment I will never forget.”

With seven games left in softball’s season, including the NEAC Championship, the team is currently 18-10.

Potter states, “I’m looking forward to us getting more wins, winning our conference and going to the ECAC softball championships. It won’t be easy but, I’m excited for the challenges. I have grown so much as a player and person through this season, I hope to continue this with the support of my coaches and teammates. I’m also looking forward to how much we will grow as a family as well as a team.”

Softball’s final scheduled home games are Wednesday, April 26, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
