Phoenix Finish Co-Champions of NEAC South Division
The Wilson College softball team finished their 2015 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play with a 15-5 record, sharing first place with Penn State Berks in the NEAC South Division standings. The team will be recognized at the NEAC Softball Championship tournament May 1-3 for their outstanding achievement.
Wilson will enter the NEAC South Championship as the second seed in the south for the tournament, as Penn State Berks won the tiebreaker to host the tournament. The tournament host alternates between the top seed in the north division and the top seed in the south division each year. Penn State Abington will join Wilson and Penn State Berks as the number three seed in the south division. The north division teams will consist of Keuka College, earning first seed, and SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Polytechnic, earning second and third seeds respectively.
In their opening game of the NEAC Softball Championship, the Phoenix will face off against SUNY Poly. The game will take place on Friday, May 1, at 4:00 p.m. on the campus of Penn State Berks. The tournament is composed of a double elimination format with the winner earning NEAC Champion honors and an automatic bid to the regional tournament of the NCAA Division III Championships.
The team holds a 18-11 overall record and are coached by Brett Cline.
