Brettney Briefly: On Christmas

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! When I last wrote, I told you I would be trying turkey this Thanksgiving. Well, I did and I liked it; oddly, it tasted like steak to me. Now that Thanksgiving has past, it’s time to talk Christmas. We spent the day after Thanksgiving putting up our tree, decorating, and watching Christmas movies. We usually put up an Advent box that a secret elf puts treats in each night, but we left that in New Hampshire last Christmas so we’re using our stockings instead.

I know many of you are excited for Christmas and for being able to go home. I can’t wait to go home to New Hampshire for Christmas! To me, Christmas is about giving and being with family and friends. It feels good to give back to those who have given to me and I have been busy since the summer making lots of gifts for family and friends.

In addition to going home, I’m looking forward to reading at Christmas Vespers. I just hope there isn’t as much snow this year so more people can come. I’m also looking forward to the Women With Children Holiday Party. Hopefully, we won’t get sick (like we did last year!) and not be able to attend.  I hope you have lots to look forward to and are filled with the spirit of the season this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you next semester!
