Marina

Marina is a sweet little, 7-month-old dilute tortie who was brought into the shelter with her mom and eight siblings in June 2014 when she was just a week old. This dear baby will talk to you and purr when you give her attention. She would love to get out of the shelter and into your lap.

Bob Animal Shelter

Bob

Bob is a 5-year-old Aussie mix who was surrendered to the shelter because his family was moving. Bob is a little on the shy side and can be timid in new environments. He appears to be okay with most other dogs and is generally a really sweet, calm boy who can be affectionate when you let him come to you. Due to his age, breed and activity level, we recommend that he goes to a home with older children. Do you have the right place for Bob?

Bubbles

Bubbles

Bubbles is a large 5-year-old grey tabby. He and his sister, Buttercup were surrendered because their owners couldn’t care for them. They’re really sweet siblings who are looking for a new place to call their own. Do you have the right spot for Bubbles?

Babette

Babette

Babette is a 2-year-old chocolate lab who is used to being around other dogs. She will need some training, but loves attention and wants to please every human she knows, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to teach her good behavior. Look at that face! You know you want to meet her!

Cosmo

Cosmo

Cosmo is a 3-year-old gray tabby boy who is pretty laid back, but he’s still got a fun personality. He’ll reach out and tap you to let you know he’s there and wants attention. Cosmo also enjoys playing and lounging in empty boxes. Whoever gets this guy will be really, really lucky.

Carmella

Carmella

Carmella is a 2-year-old fawn colored puggle who came into the shelter with a cherry eye that we had “tucked.” She’s still healing and it’s been a long process, but she’s looking pretty good right now. Carmella seems to be a very social dog who gets excited during play time. She also knows a few commands like sit and shake with both paws. Carmella will need a family that will be considerate of her eye condition and take the appropriate steps in its long term care.

Chomper

Chomper

Chomper is a 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who does not let his age slow him down a single bit. This sweet boy is ready and raring to go. Look at that face! Due to his breed and energy level, we feel he’d do best in a home without cats. If you understand the JRT breed, please come out and say “hi” to Chomper.

Boo

Boo

Boo is a sweet, 3-year-old brown tabby with white who was a little shy when he first came into the shelter, but has really turned around. He made friends with some of the felines here and they really helped him come out of his shell. Now he just needs help to get out of a cage and into a forever home.

Ollie

Ollie

Meet Ollie. He’s a young male rabbit who’s a sweet fellow. Ollie loves carrots and kale. He’s looking for a place to call his own. Can you adopt Ollie?

She loves everyone she meets and really seems to enjoy chewing up toys. Because of her breed and energy level, we’re looking for a home for her with children older than 8. Do you have the right spot for Trinity?

Tonto

Tonto

Tonto is a 4-year-old sturdy, gray boy who really wants to be the only companion to his human. He’s quite active and curious, but can also relax and chill out, too. He loves toys and food and enjoys following humans around. Tonto would love to be your “Kemosabe.”

Thor

Thor

Thor is a 4-year-old pitbull mix who is the absolute sweetest boy. He loves to hug and kiss – no joke! He’s got gorgeous amber eyes that really seem to speak words. Because of his size and strength (he’ll need some leash training) we’re looking for a home for him with children older than 8. If you’ve got the right spot for Thor, you will not be disappointed.

Rainme

Rainme

Rainme is a beautiful, 5-year-old black-and-white cat who is a petite little girl. She’s very laid back and sweet. Rainme loves attention and will sit on any lap she can find. She will make an amazing companion.

Maria

Maria

Maria is a 7-year-old pitbull mix who has really captured a lot of hearts at CVAS. She has a lot of love to give. Because she’s a little older, she does have some special needs and we’re looking for a home for her with children older than 8. If you have the spot for Maria, please come meet her.

Jade

Jade

Jade is a beautiful grey-and-white, 2-year-old girl who is one of our long term residents. We can’t understand why she’s been in the shelter since February 2014, but that’s the case. She’s a unique-looking lady with a great personality and will make an awesome friend and is currently at Petsmart in Chambersburg. Please stop by to meet her!

Ramsey

Ramsey

Are you an active person looking for an active dog to keep up with your lifestyle? If you answered yes, then you must come in and meet Ramsey. Ramsey is a 2-year-old boxer mix who has a real zest for life and does everything full throttle!! He definitely needs someone who will provide him with plenty of exercise. He really loves to play with toys and is food motivated. If you have either thing in your hand he will “talk” to you until you give him what he wants. Because of his energy level, we recommend that he goes to a home with no cats and children older than 10. Do you have the right place for Ramsey?

Lena

Lena

Lena is a 3-year-old girl who is incredibly sweet and has a great personality. She’s a grey tabby with some white and will make someone a wonderful companion. Please come out and meet her!

Blitz

Blitz is a 2-year-old terrier mix who loves, loves, loves to play with toys! He’s a sweet little guy who can be a little timid during a first meeting but does warm up. Desiree was a surgery cat for Wilson College.

Nitro

Nitro

Nitro came to us as a stray 1/22/15, when he was 2-3 years old. We wish this friendly, happy boy could tell us how he came to be all alone in the world. Nitro is quite outgoing and loves making new friends. He has energy to spare and likes to stay busy. This boy is no couch potato, although he’ll be content to snooze by your side after he’s had oodles of exercise and playtime. He takes treats gently from your hands and is proud of himself when he knows he’s pleased you. Nitro seems to like most other dogs at the shelter and will need to meet any dogs you currently have at home. Patience and consistency will be key in helping Nitro with his house training. He tends to mark territory, but this is common for unaltered male dogs. Training and neuter surgery will make all the difference. If you’re the active, outdoorsy type and can include Nitro in most of your activities, he’ll be a happy camper.

Sugar

Sugar

Sugar was transferred from another shelter 1/23/15, when she was about 6 years old. This shy, skittish little girl adores people and loves to be held and snuggled. She will likely blossom in a calm, laid back home environment, spending lots of time with her people. A loud, bustling household may prove to overwhelm this sensitive girl. Sugar would be the ideal companion for a senior citizen, or anyone who spends a lot of time at home. She gets along with other dogs at the shelter and has shared her kennel with small furry friends. She’s a bit overweight, so we hope her forever person will help Sugar regain her girlish figure. This love bug has had a rough go of things lately and is anxious for the next chapter of her life to begin. Are you the one who will take Sugar home and offer her the TLC and companionship she’s been waiting for?

Alice

Alice

Look at this beautiful girl! Alice was transferred from another shelter 2/22/14, when she was about 1 1/2 years old. She’s super-friendly, playful and so affectionate! Spend a few minutes with Alice and she’ll likely place her paws in your lap and shower you with kisses and hugs. Alice will sit on command and pays close attention to her people. What she loves to do most is run at full speed and play. After she’s burned some energy, Miss Alice will be ready to come snuggle and snooze by your side. We understand she was protective of ‘her person’ in her former home, which is a testament to her loyalty. Alice’s leash manners could use a little polishing, but this is just a matter of training and use of a proper harness. She gets along with most male dogs at the shelter but is selective when it comes to female dogs. A meeting between Alice and any dogs you currently have at home would be necessary. This girl has quite a prey drive, meaning she has high interest in cats, livestock and poultry. It’s safe to say that Alice is not cut out for life down on the farm. She eagerly shares her toys with people but tends to guard food and toys with other dogs. Due to her energy level, Alice is best suited for a home with only adults and older children. She may be a little too exuberant for toddlers and young children. Did we mention Alice is a stunner?…her silver coat absolutely shimmers! This energetic young dog will need plenty of daily exercise and long walks for years to come. A fenced yard is recommended. Alice has patiently waited for so long. Are you the one who will offer her forever love?

Donovan

Donovan

HI, I’M DONOVAN! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU SINCE APRIL 2013! This handsome boy came to us a stray 4/5/13, when he was about 6 years old. We wish Donovan could tell us if he ever had a home with people who loved him. He appears to be a Snowshoe mix, as he has brown tints mixed in with his black fur, and his eyes are a pale blue/green. Donovan’s quite shy, but once he warms up to you, he would love to sit on your lap or curl up beside you. Donovan has made great strides since joining us…he now approaches people for attention. He does well with other cats at the shelter and seems to enjoy sharing his kennel with them. He would be your best friend and companion for many years to come. Donovan dreams of the day when he will move into his forever home. Are you the one who can make his dreams come true?

Sam

Sam

Sam and his litter mates were transferred from another shelter 2/14/15, when they were only 8 weeks old. This small, innocent little guy will soon grown into a sizable, mischievous adult. He’ll require a generous amount of exercise and playtime every day for years to come. If you’ve pre-planned for your puppy and are ready to offer patience, training and love, Sam wants to meet you. A fenced yard would be perfect.

Luigi

Luigi

Kimber

Kimber

Kimber and two litter mates were transferred from another shelter 2/14/15, when they were only 5-6 months old. She’s very shy and quiet right now, but that will probably change in a hurry. Kimber loves to be held and snuggled. She wants to spend lots of time with you, being treated as a cherished family member. If you have plenty of time to offer a growing puppy, Kimber would like to meet you. A fenced yard would be ideal.

Tara

Tara

Beautiful Tara came to us as a stray 2/4/15, when she was about 2 years old. She’s a little shy at first but warms up quickly to new people. Spend a few minutes with Tara and her sunny, happy disposition comes out in spades. She adores people and will likely form a strong bond with her adopters. We’ve seen Tara twist and twirl around the room from sheer joy, unable to contain herself…so cute! She will sit on command and takes treats gently from your hands. Tara has energy to spare, so an abundance of daily exercise and playtime will be in order for years to come. Lovely Miss Tara can’t tell us how she came to be all alone in the world, but we know she’s ready for a home and family to call her very own. She’s waiting to meet you!
