Season Three Is Underway for Wilson Baseball
Season number three is about to be underway for Wilson College’s baseball team. Even with last year’s season being cut short due to Covid Wilson has received votes in the top 40 of the division 3 collegiate baseball pre- season poll.
The Phoenix had a 7-3 record before having the season cut short, following their 2019 season where the team had an overall record of 21-13 and clinched a playoff spot in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) tournament. Wilson also earned themselves a spot for more postseason play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament.
Wilson will open their season with a non-conference doubleheader against Mary Baldwin University on the road on March 6th. The first game will start at 12p.m. and the second game follows at 2:00p.m. Their first home game will be against McDaniel College on March 13th. Wilson will host their first conference game against Keystone College on March 20th. Wilson’s first conference matchup that they will be hosting at home will be against Cairn University at 12p.m.
This year each CSAC team will play a two-game series against other CSAC opponents this year, with the championship tournament starting on Wednesday, May 7th, with the top four teams playing. The championship series, which is double elimination, will be held at the highest seed starting on Sunday, May 14th.
