BREAKING: GOP Debate hosted by Fox News

The Republican GOP Debate is currently taking place on March 3rd from 9 pm until 11 pm by Fox News. It is hosted by Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly, and Chris Wallace. Candidates Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich are facing off on the stage with candidate Ben Carson noticeably missing.  The candidates have been arguing back and forth, ignoring the hosts, name calling, insulting, and deflecting questions continuously.

The debate is currently breaking and will be continuously updated with candidate’s arguments and comments throughout the debate.

10:00 PM

Recap:

Donald Trump:

  • Has officially disavowed former Klu Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke
  • Using his twitter account to back up his claims at the debate
  • Avoided the question about moving his clothing company back to the USA from China and Mexico and instead deflected to the currency issues
  • Trump and Rubio got into a name calling match ignoring host Chris Wallace
  • Stated he funded Hilary Clinton 4 times during her 2008 campaign due to business interests
  • Stated he was going to build a wall and “Mexico will pay for it [the wall]”
  • Confirmed his stance on going after the families of terrorists, citing 9/11 as an example

John Kasich:

  • Stated he was planning on winning in Ohio
  • Stated that he was not given enough time on tv during debates which is why he is not as well known

Ted Cruz:

  • Plans to retract Obamacare and regulators
  • Wants to abolish IRS

Rubio:

  • Stated that while he does not do petty attacks he will go after Donald Trump for attacking others
  • Trump and Rubio consistently going back and forth and hurling insults at each other

Donald Trump

  • Megyn Kelly asked Trump to respond to his continuously changing statements on the Afghanistan War and his opinions on the Syrian refugee crisis. His response defended his mistake in calling Iraq, Afghanistan and defended his opinion change on Syrian refugees by saying the country should build a “safe zone in their country”. Stating he could change his tune and is able to be flexible.
  • Trump University was brought up and Trump stated that over 98% of participants were happy with the courses and stood by the percentage when Megyn Kelly brought up that 1/3 of participants are suing to receive their money back

Marco Rubio

  • Stated that Trump was a con-artist and gave an example of one of the Trump University victims
  • Got into another back and forth match with Trump
  • Stated the Trump was going to do the same to Americans, by promising them big things and not following through

Ted Cruz

  • Commented how the arguments between Trump and Rubio were not what Americans wanted to see at a political debate
  • Made a large move by calling Donald Trump out for interrupting others

John Kasich

  • Agreed with Cruz about the comments on stage and stated that Americans want jobs and help to bring the country back to where it used to be

10:20 pm

Marco Rubio

  • Defends Governor Snyder in Flint water crisis and calls for moving on from the politicizing of the situation and instead for action to help the people and to keep it from happening again
  • Stated he would have as few limits as possible on gun control. Citing that criminals who are causing the issues with guns are not following the law anyway and it is the law abiding citizens being punished

John Kasich

  • Was asked about his position on businesses selling to “gay defectors”. His response stated that while he disagreed with the Supreme Court’s decision, businesses should sell goods to all customers. Stating that services were a different story and that if customers were unhappy they should find another business

Ted Cruz

  • In response to whether or not gay couples should be allowed to adopt, that he heavily disagreed with the Supreme Courts decision on gay marriage, saying the states should be allowed to control marriage rights and adoption rights.
  • Does not support banning of guns

Donald Trump

  • Does not support the limiting of gun regulation
  • Changed his political stance that was posted on his website to no longer support the banning of assault weapons

Marco Rubio

  • Stated America needed a strong leader that was willing to learn and delve into foreign policy
  • Stated Trump was not a leader due to his attacking responses to questions and lack of seriousness
  • Asked Trump to give a detailed explanation of his foreign policy tactics

Donald Trump

  • Stated that the military will do as he tells them
  • He will take care of veterans and get equipment soldiers want
  • Stated how the polls preferred Trump
  • Responded to Rubio by stating that it would be good to get along with Russia and to use them to help increase the infrastructure in the United States

Ted Cruz

  • Was asked how he would respond to North Korea’s recent call to have nuclear weapons at the ready, if he were president
  • Stated that he would move carrier group to South China and work on space missiles

John Kasich

  • Was asked about campaign video of Trump and Putin
  • Responded by stating “I’m not biting” and instead discusses his ideas of how to work with world leaders.

  • Said yes quietly due to the need to not elect Hillary Clinton

Ted Cruz

  • Said yes due to his promise to keep his word

John Kasich

  • Said yes due to his belief that Kasich will be the nominee

Donald Trump

Closing statements

John Kasich

  • Stated that unlike the other candidates he has a credible history of solving problems

Marco Rubio

  • Says that the 21st century can be the greatest era “if we get this election right”

Ted Cruz

  • Says he wants to talk to military and military families
  • Says he has the backs of policemen, firefighters, and other servicemen

Donald Trump

  • Says he will bring back jobs, fix the military, take care of veterans, and make people proud of the country
