The Campus Activities Board hosts the annual Halloween dance on Friday, Oct. 31 in Laird Hall from 9 p.m. to midnight.  This year the event is called “Spookapalooza.”

Party-goers are encouraged to wear costumes to the dance.  The Drama Club will sponsor a costume contest, where attendees can be entered into three different categories: scariest, funniest and most original.  The top three people picked in each will win a gift card.

“The costumes were awesome last year,” Courtney Shaner ’16, CAB Historian, says.

Rachel Kleinschmidt ’15, CAB President, adds, “I can’t wait to see what people dress as this year.”

The Entertainment and Creative Events committee in CAB is in charge of this event.  They put together the posters that go up on campus and decorate for the event.  Current Director of Entertainment and Creative Events, Nikki Zuleger ’17, says: “I’m excited for the dance and to see all of the spooky costumes.”

Rachel Kleinschmidt had a mission in mind when she chose to be a CAB Director: “I wanted to be a director to make the campus more fun.”

Recently, CAB’s membership is lacking. For events like the Halloween dance to continue, the club needs more participation.

“CAB is a great stress-reliever, as well as a good résumé builder,” Zuleger ’17 adds.  “It’s a great way to get involved on campus.  If you want to have a say in what goes on, join CAB.”

Kleinschmidt says there was a great turnout for the Halloween dance last year.  The committee hopes for the same this year.
